Many of us have been lucky enough to enjoy a summer's day by the lake. Whether you call your destination a cottage, a cabin, a lodge, a campground, or a lake house, summer at the lake is a quintessential Canadian experience. Now more than ever, these simple times and places shape and define us.
On the more abstract end of my style, this painting depicts quiet moments, gazing at the reflections of sky and trees on the water. It is intended to be contemplative and zen, with few details to distract.
It is easy to take these timeless moments for granted, yet it's also worth considering that clean water, fresh air, and green trees require some degree of care. Whatever small steps we can take to protect nature will also help to ensure that future generations will get to enjoy the traditions that mean so much to us today.
