SOLD - Cross Canada Series - Ontario - Secret Garden 12x12" (Bridal Veil Falls, Manitoulin Island)

Secret Garden was inspired by a photo offering a view of a waterfall. This painting represents a real location, located in Ontario, Canada. As such, it is part of my Cross Canada Series, honouring beautiful natural spaces across our amazing country.

Abstract techniques used in the creation of this piece include stencilling. The foliage framing the waterfall was painted using a lace-patterned stencil. It is interesting to note that this formal pattern, obvious in close-up, somehow creates the illusion of natural trees or bushes when viewed from even a few steps away. This effect represents the interaction between a work of art and the viewer.
