AVAILABLE - Secret Places (24x18")

Secret Places represents those hidden moments of beauty - in nature, in people, in life. This piece depicts densely packed trees, with sparse light filtering through from the sky above. The heavily textured trees contrast the delicate ferns, which were created using actual woodland ferns as masking stencils.

Outside of the urban centers, there are still many such unexplored pockets in Canada, for the most part visited only by local wildlife. Some might consider these secret spaces wasted space, given that they are not being "used" as farmland or anything else. I'd like the viewer to consider them as essential to our survival. If we lose areas of untouched wilderness, we lose not only their beauty, but also our biodiversity, our clean air, and our very identity.
