This painting represents a slight departure in technique from my previous works. While I'm once again working in my signature mixed media style, in this case I'm using the liquid asphalt for colour as well as for texture. Based on the success of this piece, I'll definitely continue this exploration!
Composition: inspired by a video showing the Washington State coastline. Acrylic and latex paints, spray shellac based primer, spray paints, and liquid asphalt (rubberized). Painted on cradled birch panel.
